The best smoothies for glowing skin.

@domsli22

Delicious to start your day with or simply as an inbetween snack: an ice-cold smoothie of blended fruits, vegetables and a tablespoon of soy yogurt. You can simply throw everything together, press the button and... ready! Not only does a smoothie take little time to prepare, it is also extremely healthy and good for your skin (if you make it yourself and don't add any sugars). A smoothie is full of vitamins, fibers and antioxidants. Read on and discover which 3 smoothies help your skin shine!

1. Mango smoothie

This smoothie contains so-called carotenoids. Caratenoid is an important coloring agent in nature. This dye provides the yellow color of a mango and contributes to shiny skin and hair. How does this work? It has to do with the fact that mentioned substances causes cell renewal to accelerate and pores to contract.

Blend:

  • 50 g mango
  • 50 g avocado
  • 50 ml semi-skimmed yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon linseed oil

2. Berry smoothie

Blueberries in particular provide an anti-inflammatory effect in our blood. This anti-inflammatory action is very useful for the treatment of various skin conditions, such as acne. You can get blueberries both fresh and deep frozen.

Blend:

  • 50 g blueberries
  • 50 g raspberries
  • A handful of spinach
  • 150 ml water

3. Green smoothie with kale and spinach

Dark green leafy vegetables, such as kale and spinach also provide an anti-inflammatory effect, which in it’s turn contributes to glowing skin, according to researchers. This is due to the presence of phenols and carotenoids.

Blend:

  • 400 ml almond milk
  • 75 g finely chopped kale
  • 1 banana
  • 50 g spinach
  • 300 g pineapple in pieces

Mix and match!

The recipes above serve as inspiration but of course you can add your own favorite ingredients and create your personal yummy smoothie. Add some spinach, blueberries or mango and you're good to go if you're aiming for a shiny skin! Another tip: Eat your smoothie with a spoon. Why? Because you'll eat the smoothie slower and you´ll realize sooner that you´re full.
